A glimpse on Saigon at night

My second part of this year-end trip is Vietnam.

Let’s go!

Yangon to Vietnam: I was lucky to get set 14A with by the window with extra room for legs due to emergency exit.

Goodbye, Myanmar.

Up in the clouds. I feel like freefalling.

In less than two hours the delta of the Mekong river can be observed.

Xin chao, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)!

First immediate impression right at the airport: motorbikes everywhere. And bikes (and especially helmets) are part of the fashion for ladies!

Arrived at the hostel. I first thought the driver took to me to the wrong place – a restaurant with the same name. It turned out to be both a hostel and a restaurant.

In the common area.

The sleeping area was weird: vast and empty. It was only one night anyway.

Going for a walk in the night Saigon. Bikes in the Saigon streets are guarded.

Along one of the main roads: Tran Hung Dao street.

Many lights, cars, bars, people.

Fruit seller at the vibrant Ben Thant Market.

The market is open 24/7.

Finishing the night off with a beer of “Saigon Special” and fried chicken legs.

What else? During my short walk, I was offered on three occasions marijuana, girl massage, and “boom-boom” (I guess this Asian word is pretty international now).

Tomorrow I am visiting a port town Phan Thiet. See you again, Saigon, soon.
